Cheap Flights to Britain

By: Keith Barrett

A visit to Great Britain can make for the perfect holiday, although some feel that it also invariably leads to an expensive trip. It is possibly to lower the costs involved by looking out for cheap flight deals.

The rise of the so-called budget airlines means that air travel to and from the UK has never been cheaper. The likes of Easyjet and Ryanair have been pioneers in this area of aviation, reducing costs for travellers.

As a result of the success of the budget airlines, many traditional airlines have been forced to react and lower their own prices. This has been very good news for those looking to take a flight to the UK.

The other knock-on effect of the expansion of the budget airline sector has been that it's now possible to fly to a number of regional airports. You'll find that you are no longer restricted to using the major London airports, Birmingham or Manchester.

Airports at Southampton, Bournemouth, Exeter, Coventry and Doncaster (to name a few) have seen vast increases in passenger numbers, with direct flights now being offered between such locations and many continental European hubs.

The key to finding a cheap flight to Britain is to be as flexible as possible. Try to schedule your arrangements so that you avoid the most popular times of year.

You'll also find that you can make some big savings by booking your flights as early as possible. A number of the low cost airlines (such as Flybee and Easyjet) offer the cheapest flights to those who are prepared to make the earliest bookings.

The one downside to using the budget airlines is that they usually do not provide an in-flight meal as part of the package. It is generally possible to buy food and refreshments onboard but prices do tend to be quite high for those purchases.

It's wise to try and eat before boarding your flight, particularly if you are only making a short journey.

Using the budget airlines, you too can enjoy cheap flights to Britain.
